Sales Engineer — Own the Automation Conversation

Toledo, OH

Turn automation challenges into solutions customers can build—and buy.

We’re looking for a Sales Engineer who can bridge the gap between industrial customers, engineering, and sales.

You’ll work with OEMs, machine builders, and manufacturers to understand their automation challenges and turn them into practical solutions—from individual components to control panels and turnkey automation systems.

This isn’t catalog sales. You’ll have the technical depth and engineering support to sell real solutions involving PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motion, networking, safety, and UL508A control panels.

What You’ll Do

• Build and grow relationships with OEMs, machine builders, manufacturers, and integrators.

• Identify and develop new automation opportunities.

• Meet with customers to understand applications, challenges, and requirements.

• Recommend products and engineered automation solutions.

• Prepare quotes, BOMs, proposals, and technical recommendations.

• Review schematics, specifications, and application requirements.

• Partner with engineering and panel-building teams to develop solutions.

• Manage opportunities from initial conversation through order and project completion.

• Conduct customer visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.

• Expand existing accounts from component sales into larger engineered solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years in technical sales, industrial automation, controls, electrical distribution, manufacturing, or engineering.

• Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Ability to read electrical schematics and BOMs.

• Comfortable talking with engineers, maintenance teams, and purchasing.

• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.

• Willingness to travel locally and regionally.
